Biography
Dr Yang Liu studied Software Engineering at , Xi’an, China, before moving for her PhD at the City University of Hong Kong. There, she studied with Prof Zhenjiang Li at the Department of Computer Science. Dr Yang Liu was awarded the Outstanding Doctoral Thesis Award 2021 from China Chapter of ACM Special Interest Group on Embedded System (SIGBED) for her thesis, which was recognized as the exceptional quality with important innovations in basic and applied theory and technologies in the field of Computer Science. Dr Yang Liu is now a postdoctoral researcher advised by Prof. Cecilia Mascolo in the Department of Computer Science, and a Postdoctoral Affiliate at Newnham College.
Research Interests
Dr Yang Liu is currently researching wearable computing for healthcare through human vital signs perception using ear-worn sensor development, signal processing and machine learning techniques. She has long-term experiences in human-centric sensing and computing to deepen and broaden ways of smart healthcare. Her research works have been well recognized by the community in prestigious journals and conferences.
