A big thank you to everyone who took part in the recent Shaping Newnham’s Future Telephone Campaign (18 September to 2 October). Our wonderful callers raised £200,000, with just over 250 alumnae pledging a gift.
“I recently had the amazing opportunity to participate in the Newnham College Telephone Campaign, fundraising specifically for the Shaping Newnham’s Future Campaign,” says caller and Newnham Ambassador Gabrielle Farge. “In this experience, I gained insight into the lives and careers of a number of impressive alumnae, who were keen to share with another Newnhamite: I was struck greatly by their openness and their desire to share opportunities and tips with me, as someone who is keenly aware of the pressures that an environment like Cambridge can foster.
“The calling team became incredibly close, and this experience is one I won’t quickly forget – I loved the honour of communicating with such wonderful people, and the collective knowledge accessed by myself and my fellow callers was so inspiring…
“Beyond the feel-good aspect of fundraising for the future of my beautiful College, the Telephone Campaign has resulted in a great amount of personal development, improving my communication skills and determination. Thank you to Newnham College Roll and Development Office for making us feel so supported throughout the role, and congratulations to all my colleagues on the astonishing amount we raised.”
