
Helaine Blumenfeld is recognised as one of Britain’s leading sculptors working in marble and bronze. She has completed more than 80 commissions and her sculptures have been sited in public and private settings throughout the UK, Europe and the USA.
Blumenfeld is based near Cambridge, and there are several major Blumenfeld works in the town – Shadow Figures at Vision Park, Histon, Chauvinist on Hills Road, Flame at Clare Hall, and Hommage at Clare College.
Esprit is carved from Turkish onyx and is set upon a metal stand. The sculpture is located near to the Buttery at Newnham and was acquired in 2006 as part of the redevelopment programme for the building.
